Ever wondered why all the successful people you know have a clear understanding of many different facts about the world?
They read! A lot!
and the list goes on... not just famous personalities, you might even know someone personally who must be well aware of facts, information, descriptions etc. or must be skilled in their profession.
The road to success is not easy. Infact I feel one must 'read in order to succeed'. Reading is a key part of one's success.
One of the biggest struggles as a non-reader is finding out what to read or from where to begin with. This is where a novel comes into picture. Research shows that reading novels, for example, shapes our brains and molds our social skills. Reading novels and stories allows us to gain access to deeply imagined lives other than our own. Experiencing complex moral situations enriches the pool of experience from which we make decisions. Great novels also have the complexity to strengthen our moral muscles. Being an avid reader allows you to put yourself in someone else's shoes, if only for a moment; but once that moment's over, you remember the experience for the rest of your life.
If reading as a pathway to success isn't enough to get you motivated, consider these health benefits of reading: Reading has been shown to help prevent stress, depression, and dementia, while enhancing confidence, empathy, decision-making, and overall life satisfaction.
Now that you have developed the habit of reading, you might even end up with piles of books to be read and eventually it will become your favorite entertainment.
