Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories - Volume 2 - Arthur Conan Doyle

Volume II of this two-part series continues with more of Sherlock Holmes many splendored adventures starting with The Hound of the Baskervilles which is the third of the four crime novels written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The Hound of the Baskervilles was so successful that it virtually forced Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to keep Sherlock Holmes going for many more adventures. Also in the collection is The Return of Sherlock Holmes which is a collection of 13 Sherlock Holmes short stories first published in 1903-1904 and includes The Adventure of the Norwood Builder and a dozen other enthralling tales. His Last Bow is a collection of eight stories which were first published in various magazines of the time. The Valley of Fear is the fourth and final Sherlock Holmes novel. It is loosely based on the supposed real-life exploits of the Molly Maguires and the Pinkerton Agent – James McParland. Finally, in Volume II, we have another collection of superb short stories (12 in all) entitled `The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes’. These are stories that were first published in the Strand Magazine between October 1921 and April 1927.
